Derrick Miller // Pastor // Navigator
His daily duties as a firefighter gives Derrick an interesting perspective on life and a unique storytelling and preaching style. When he’s not at work or leading Mosaic, he can be found exploring the world, surfing, and spending time with his wife and son Blake. Derrick also holds a degree in Biblical Studies from Fresno Pacific University.
Mark Bell // Pastor // Navigator
Outside of Mosaic, Mark is the Executive Director of TWELVE – a nine month discipleship experience; co-founder of Proj25 – a youth driven community service initiative, and on the board of several nonprofits making global impact. He loves surfing, biking, sports, film, and travel. You can usually find him cruising around Ocean Beach, where he lives with his son Max.
Ephesians 3:20 has shaped Mark’s life. “All glory to God, who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ask, think or imagine according to His power that is at work within us.”
After moving back to San Diego in 2012 having been gone for 18 years, the opportunity arose in Rick’s ministry life to choose where he wanted to go to church. After visiting Mosaic with his wife and three boys, they have been here ever since. With 26 years of Pastoral and Para church ministry, Rick serves as the Executive Pastor at Mosaic SD, where he helps with the business side of things as well as well as serving on the Navigator team.
He is passionate about disciple making, and diving deep in his journey with Jesus. He cares deeply about people distant from God and helping them journey with Jesus. Outside of Mosaic, Rick is the Executive Director for Global Frontiers Project, a non-profit missions and consulting organization. With his ministry work, he has traveled extensively to about 53 countries. One of his recent trips includes the Ukraine, where he mingled with the protesters in Kiev’s Maidan Square.
